....Art Life!

Art Life this week has lead me into the second week of sculpture & this week were played around with the making of skulls.  Lucky for me mine has a real cartoon look about it which is perfectly fine.....some people's looked like a real human skull, but I preferred for mine to have some over the top features! :)

Isn't Skully just the cutest!  I love his overly large cheek bones & random teeth! :)

....Art Life!

I guess there comes a time in everyones lives when they think its time to take a new direction & mix life up a little.  This occurred for me September 2011 when I relocated from my home town to the city of Adelaide & begun to set myself up with my partner & mentally prepare for the possibility of getting into a Bachelor of Visual Arts & Design.
Lucky enough I was accepted into the course that I wanted & I now study full time at Adelaide College of the Arts.  Having not studied for over 12years it was a massive shock going back & starting something so big.  I now can say that I have survived term 1 & this week have started term 2.
Yes the work load has been massive but I seriously love it......I love school!  Yep there I said it!  I'm a complete nerd & love going everyday.  I would like to consider myself lucky because not often to you find something that you are truly passionate about & enjoy doing on a daily basis.
I'm going into the course to gain further experience & knowledge in the photography industry & extremely excited to see what else I pick up along the way.

I guess blogging for me will be more of a visual thing rather than me writing massive chunks of writing & school having one of the biggest influences in my life right now & I can see myself writing about that frequently.
I can't draw to save my life but I'm trying & that's the main thing!

We had to layout our photocopied drawings & select a section of one of them to draw on a larger scale.

This is the section that I chose.

This was the starting point for my drawing.

We had our first chance to use colour today & having just used black for so long it felt really strange to add colour.

LOL....yes I was drawing with my whole hand!!  I had FUN!!! :D

....Last Dinosaurs

Over the last couple of weeks my gig list has been expanding with a few shows lined up to keep Tam & I entertained.  In April we were lucky enough to go & see the Last Dinosaurs....(if you are unsure on who they are google them ASAP!)  They played at a cute little club called Jive which is just next to my school in the city.  The venue probably only hold about 100 people or so & has a cute retro feel with up stairs seating so everyone gets to view the show.

I'm always keeping my ears open for new musical talent so if there is anyone that you are currently listening too & feel that you need to spread the love let me know.

Hope you have a fab week! :)

....Sunday's

Finally!!!....My Sunday project has come to an end.  I guess you could say that I am a little sad that it is over & I'm now craving a new project.  If anyone has any ideas let me know!

I'm still debating if I will leave the cloud empty or fill it in?!?!  At this stage I'm happy with it being left empty as it seems to create a little bit of space & a focal point.

Tam has just sanded her old guitar back & now I have the chance to cover it what ever way I see fit.  I'm unsure on how to approach this project & I'm considering doing the same idea that I have done with the Sunday project.

Stay posted for guitar updates! :)

....instagram

Instagram is one of those 'must have' applications for any photographer  that is on the go, or just loves sharing photo's via social networking.  I love the ease of editing & uploading & here are 7 of my favorites from the last month or so....

Instagram seems to be my study distraction & the Schweppes bottle happened to be sitting on my desk.

Drawing class & my collection of tools that I need to get through those 3hrs each week.

New nail polish!  I seem to be back on the nail polish wagon & obsessed with new colours.

Scootering adventure up around Brighton.

8:09am.....I was at school already & the clouds just looked so pretty!

Red fire hydrant....well it was red until I edited it blue!  I seem to be really attracted to blue at the moment.

TinyWorld  application.....get on it!!!  You to can create these amazing little worlds out of random snaps.

I'm heading back home this weekend so I'll be interested to see what Instagram pic's sneak onto my profile.  Follow me on Instagram: RedWax

Hope you have a wonderful day!

....iLike

iLike consists of me running into things that I find interesting or just 'LIKE' around the streets of Adelaide. Being only new to Adelaide I quite often run into things that tickle my fancy. Sometimes I can like these things a little too much & they end up coming home with me! He he he....

Over the weekend I found myself at the St Peters Fair, which was quaint & consisted of a lot of home made goods. For some time now I have been looking for a cute pendant & I managed to find one that was right up my alley.

Isn't it the sweetest!!! :)

....sunday's

This is my little Sunday project that I started purely to do on Sunday's! My little project has been known to follow me into Art History class on Tuesdays. The project itself was inspired by my design class when we were looking at patterns. I've been at it now for a good month & a half. Depending on what I'm feeling like on that Sunday dictates where my pen will go.

More Sunday updates to come! :)

....nespresso

If only I drank coffee to be able to hang out at Nespresso, the latest in the coffee crazes. Not only do they provide a taste testing area to sample the goods, but they also come in these cute little shots that look awesome on display!

....bake

During these school holidays I'd decided that I was going to bake something & cheesecake was something that I was yet to have tackled.  Here is a peek of my baking process......Cookies & Cream baked cheesecake! Yum!

....blur

Tam & I were sitting on a bench in Rundal mall doing some people watching.  People watching is one of those extreme sports where you view the world as it walks by you & sometimes people are nothing but a blur!
